Kings County Distillery
It feels like moonshining and microdistilleries is fast becoming the new coffee roaster or microbrewery in the USA. One of these microdestilleries is New York based Kings County Distillery. In true DIY spirit Kings County Distillery keeps it simple, from the stock bottles to the minimal labels. Less is more and I think it looks great!
Eau-de-Vie **
Eau-de-Vie ** is a cheap version of a cognac and a essential part of many old (and perhaps forgotten) Swedish long drinks. It’s been part of Systembolagets range of products since 1922. The company that makes it is now days Pernod Ricard but the beautiful, squiggly label, designed sometime in the 1950s, remains more or less unchanged. Purity Vodka
At Ellinge castle just outside Eslöv in Skåne you find Purity Vodka’s distillery. Purity Vodka is arguable one of the worlds best premium vodkas but it’t not well know in Sweden and I guess that is a price you pay when you’re made in the same country as Absolut Vodka. Just as Absolut (and all other vodkas?), Purity has a well designed bottle. Purity’s bottle was designed by Martin Lannering at Happy Forsman & Bodenfors. D.S. & Durga
I’m not the biggest consumer of perfumes and I think that they should be used moderately and that teenagers and old ladies perfume consumption should be limited by some sort of law. But if I am to use a perfume it should look good and that is exactly what D.S. & Durga series of perfumes does. Behind the simple, yet beautiful bottles you find Durgas (who is a architect by trade). The perfume bottles you see in the post is from their old series. They are releasing a new series of wonderful scents soon, so keep and eye on D.S. & Durgas website. > D.S. & DurgaGo on
