Stutterheim Raincoats

A few days ago I wrote about Norwegian Rain and today it’s time to shift focus over to the Swedish raincoat market and the small company Stutterheim Raincoats. The coats are designed by Alexander Stutterheim and produced at Syverket i Borås by the two seamstresses Lena Borg and Brigitta Käll. The two ladies also quality check each coat and sign them. I love small companies like Stutterheim Raincoats! Keep your eyes out for this seasons raincoat Kapellgränd and Beppe, a matching rain hat.

Norwegian Rain makes wonderful rain coat out of hi-tech, recycled fabrics from Japan. Behind the
Bergen based company we find Alexander Helle and bespoke tailor extraordinaire
T Michael. I really like that the rain coats from Norwegian Rain doesn’t look like traditional rain coats, but more like fashionable coats/jackets. And
Grandpeople did a smashing job with the identity (as you can see after the jump).

I know I should wear a helmet when I ride around Malmö but my vanity stops me. But that can all change now thanks to a brilliant Swedish invention called
Hövding, a helmet that isn’t a helmet but a collar. A collar that holds an airbag that deploys if you crash (by yourself or with a car). Hövding will cost a bit more than a helmet, around 3000 SEK and the idea is that you will be able to buy different styled casings for Hövding so you can match it to the rest of your outfit. Exciting product that feels like a mix between a car airbag and a life jacket that inflates when in contact with water. After the jump you’ll find some fashion photos of different styled collars and a video showing Hövding in action.
