Purity Vodka

Purity Vodka

At Ellinge castle just outside Eslöv in Skåne you find Purity Vodka’s distillery. Purity Vodka is arguable one of the worlds best premium vodkas but it’t not well know in Sweden and I guess that is a price you pay when you’re made in the same country as Absolut Vodka. Just as Absolut (and all other vodkas?), Purity has a well designed bottle. Purity’s bottle was designed by Martin Lannering at Happy Forsman & Bodenfors. More photos of the ice block looking bottle after the jump.

Kola by Mikko Laakkonen

Kola by Mikko Laakkonen

Kola by finnish designer Mikko Laakkonen comes in a couple different variations but all are made out 100 % recyclable moulded polyester felt with an epoxy coated or chromed steel base. Smart use of materials combined with the chairs aesthetically pleasing and light way design is reason enough for me to write about the chairs. Perhaps not a chair for one’s home but it would look stunning in more or less any office, restaurant or lounge.

Loyal Luxe

Loyal Luxe

I’m usually not that fond of cute cats and dressed up dogs but sometimes I come across a pet accessory cross that is a successful. But it takes something extra for that to happen like in the case of Loyal Luxe’s two cardboard pet houses. I especially like the tipi but both small houses are inspirational, creative and well thought through from packing and up.

Hanitape

Hanitape

Before Spotify, Napster and MP3s we had the massively failed format MiniDisc (and the successful CDs of course). And even before that there was something called tapes and tape decks. The younger readers might have seen them at some flee market but I remember when mix tapes was made and given away in hope of love. With this in mind I natural have to post about Haniboi’s silicon retro wallets Hanitape. The wallets comes in four colors and can be bought directly from Haniboi’s website.

Heima by Francis Cayouette

Canadian designer Francis Cayouette has for danish Normann-Copenhagen designed a wonderful series of cast iron candlesticks and holders. The series is called Heima, a icelandic word that more or less means home and I think the name suits the series. Heima has a homely and old fashioned look that I really like. More pics after the jump of course!

Frauscher 650 Alassio

Frauscher 650 Alassio

Frauscher has been building high quality boats and yachts since 1927 and the 650 Alassio is no exception. The elegant 650 Alassio is what Frauscher calls a elektroyacht and is as you might understand powered by an electric motor. But style and eco friendliness comes with a price when it looks as posh as this, 46 620 € to be more precise.

Collector’s Loft

Collector’s Loft

Dutch UNStudio design for a loft in Greenwich Village is just wonderful. It’s perhaps the dream apartment for some of you, I mean, a loft apartment with a good address in NYC can’t only be one of my dreams? The loft is more than just a apartment though, it’s a meeting between a art gallery and living spaces. A meeting that could make the apartment feel cold and impersonal but I feel that the UNStudio’s design mixes the airiness of gallery with the living areas exceptionally and I would love in a space like it.
